Chill Vibes Mini Slimline Shaker Card

Introduction

Hi Friends!!! This is my first blog post on my own and I just want to say to anyone reading this… I appreciate you! I had so much fun creating this mini slimline shaker card and I really feel like it showcases a lot of who I am as a card maker. Bright colors make me happy and I really love working within a color story for each of my projects. For this project I let the confetti sequins set the tone and they really set me up for success.

The Plan

These Prism Confetti Sequins are from This Calls for Confetti and they have the most beautiful color shift. Because of that, I decided to have a teal tone-on-tone background and frame as a base. I trimmed a piece of My Favorite Things’ Caribbean Sea Card Stock down to be a mini slimline size (3.5 in x 6 in) as well as enough white card stock to make 6 panels. Then I die cut the middle out of each layer using one of the Hello Blue Bird Nesting Deckle Mini Slimline Dies so that I had 7 frames total.

The Lawn Fawn All the Dots Paper Pack had the perfect teal polka dot pattern, and I trimmed that down to 3.25 in x 5.75 in. I glued the dot panel to the back of this frame and filled it in with some of the sequins. Then I added a sheet of Studio Katia Acetate to the top with liquid glue to close up the well. The final shaker step was to glue the teal frame into place.

I Copic colored in the Dragon from Sweet November Stamps and fussy cut it out. Here is a look at the coloring process:

I glued the dragon directly to the front of the card with liquid glue. The next step was to add a sentiment from the Simon Says Stamp Reverse Chill Summer Sentiment Strips. The final touch was adding the whole thing to a side folding mini slimline card base. This card is so much fun and I can’t wait to send it out to someone who needs a smile.
